For the energetic bushwalker,
climb the hill behind the Homestead for glorious panoramic views of the
Valley and rainforest gullies. For the not-so-energetic, your hosts will
be happy to 4WD you to the top to enjoy the vista.
Take an easy stroll through shady mango orchards
during the season and handpick yourself some tree-ripened Bowen
mangoes. Take a peek at our Photo Gallery and you will see pics of some
of the bird and wildlife that you may encounter as you wander.
Picnic at Amamoor Creek State
Forest Park, the rainforest area of Cedar Grove or Amama Park, where you
may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the platypus at play. Stroll
along bushwalking tracks with sub-tropical vegetation and waterfalls.
Take a leisurely drive along the Mary Valley Scenic Way and notice the
diverse grazing and agricultural activities that abound, including
pineapples, macadamias, mangoes, citrus, avocados and small crops.
Drive from Amamoor through the
quaint little town of Dagun and visit the Amamoor Lookout where you will
be treated to spectacular views of the local countryside

Visit the local Dingo Creek
Winery at Traveston,

Visit Tin Can Bay and feed
the dolphins or take a Dolphin Ferry Cruise to enjoy a great
environmental experience and relax on the water. Stop off at Rainbow Beach enroute and see the coloured sands, take a horseback ride along the beach or
relax and throw in a fishing line!

In the historic goldmining town
of Gympie, visit the Gold Mining Museum and feed the ducks at the
adjacent Lake Alford parklands. Wander through the Woodworking Museum or
ride the restored steam train, Mary Valley Rattler, from Gympie to
Imbil, the largest town in the Valley. There are delightful picnic
grounds at Lake Borumba.
For the four wheel drive enthusiasts there are forest
drives, and golf,
horseback riding and canoeing are available.
The Homestead is a short scenic drive from the popular
tourist destinations of Kenilworth, Montville/Maleny, Noosa and Eumundi. |
